Lyme Disease

Spring is here.  Exercising in the woods is great, but remember to check for ticks and protect against Lyme Disease.

See this concise fact sheet for more information.

3 things to remember:

1) Ticks tend to climb up to a warm spot – crotch, armpit, under bra strap.

2) If you find a tick, grasp them with tweezers and pull straight up and out – no twisting or jerking.

3) You often hear about the ‘Bull’s Eye” rash.  However, it doesn’t always accompany Lyme Disease.  Also look for fever, severe fatigue, facial paralysis, or joint pain.

Read what the CDC has to say on the subject.

Have fun, but remember to do checks!
